In this drawing we had to use a gray piece of paper and draw with black and white charcoal pencils instead of using graphite on a white piece of paper. We also had to draw a grid on our reference photo and piece of paper to help us draw things more accurately. Most of the things we had to focus on were still the same as past drawings, like composition. I think my composition was very good and I put extra effort into making sure the perspective of the books was correct. i think it looks a tad bit off in some places but it still is very good. We also had to focus on value range. I believe I made my lights, darks, and middle tones stand out and I made sure to keep the mixing of the black and white charcoals to a minimum. Unlike other drawings we had to focus on and use a grid. I effectively used the grid in the beginning of the drawing to get the composition to correct, then erased it when it was no longer necessary. And finally we had to focus on scrutiny of light like past drawings. I made sure to use the six parts of light where they were needed. It was a little bit tricky because of the interesting composition and forms, but I think it still turned out well.
